Day 2: City Tour – Walking in the rice fields
The famous city of Jogjakarta - you should look at calmly. Visit the Royal Mosque, the Sultan's Palace and stroll through the narrow streets of the Tamansari area with its countless batik galleries. Then you will visit the traditional medicine.The afternoon is available for walking in the rice fields. (B)

Day 3: Borobodur Thrill
Your morning begins with a sensational drive to the Menoreh peak following the scenic back roads through the intensely green countryside. Here you have time to enjoy the magnificent views of the Sindoro/Sumbing and Merapi/ Merbabu volcanoes. Hiking for about 1 ½ hours, you’ll pass through an impressive steeply terraced landscape with a bird’s eye view of the Borobudur Temple below you. Re-board the coach and head towards the stunning Buddhist Temple of Borobudur built in the 8th/9th century. Enjoy the peaceful situation in the Buddhist monastery Mendut. (B)
Day 4: Trekking
Experience the depths of the Kaliurang rain forest during your five-hour walk through valleys, gorges and rivers, en route to the slopes of Mount Merapi (2.950 m), one of the most active volcanoes in the world, to watch the sunrise. You’ll see a rich variety of tropical plants, fruits, birds, giant spiders, unique vegetation and the beautiful green landscape in the cool mountain air. But you can also watch the effects of the last eruption of 2010. The afternoon is at your free disposal. (B/L)
Day 5: The Royal Graveyards of Imogiri - Beach of Parangtritis Drive through fertile rice fields till you reach the Royal graveyard of Imogiri situated on a hill overlooking the lush green plains. Open only on Sundays and Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm and on Fridays from 1 to 4 pm. The inner courts can only be entered wearing traditional Javanese batik cloths, which can be rented at the entrance. Don’t miss the opening ceremony, a rich mix of Javanese Mysticism and Islam. Afterwards, visit a local market where you can find local food such as jackfruit, tofu and tempe. Drive along a river and reach the black sandy beach of Parangtritis. If time allows, you can visit a fountain of youth and /or a meditation cave nearby before you watch the sunset from a beautifully set beach resort on the cliffs (B)
Day 6: Sunrise at Ratu Boko Palace – Yoga /Yogalates
Today you start with a ride to Ratu Boko Palace. If the weather is clear you can see the Merapi volcano. On request exercise here Yoga/Yogalates. Afterwards explore the temple and walk down to Banyunibo Temple, passing villages and rice fields. Return to hotel. (B)
On request: Enjoy some relaxing hours in a SPA. In the evening watch the leather puppet show.
Day 7 : Cetho – Sukuh Temple
Drive to the slopes of Mount Lawu (3.265 m) to discover the 14th century
Temple Complex of Cetho dedicated to Bima, often mysteriously covered in
misty clouds. Then you will hike along tea plantations, through pine forests to the Sukuh Temple with its unique architecture. You will spend the night in the beautifully located Sukuh Cottages, which offer a unique view. (B)
Day 8: Sukuh Temple – Transfer out
Depending on the point of departure and time, you can go directly to the airport of Solo or Jogjakarta. (B)

P O2. THE DIFFERENT CENTRAL JAVA TOUR

Day 1: Jogjakarta – Magelang – Tlogo
From Jogjakarta you drive to Kopeng by passing snake skin fruit plantation and stone art workshop and stop at Tofu home industry to watch the process of making tofu. Arrival in Kopeng resort you will see fruit and vegetable sellers and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mount Merbabu. Visit the Trappist monastery and talk with the nun about her mission. Have a look in the chapel and buy some selfmade goodies for the road.
Then continue via Salatiga to Tlogo Resort, which is located in the middle of a coffee and rubber plantation. Overnight in Tlogo Resort.
Day 2: Tlogo – Ambarawa – Gedong Songo – Wonosobo
From Tlogo you drive to Ambarawa and visit the train museum which is famous for its German and British locomotives. Continue to the Gedung Songo Temple complex. The so called NINE temples are scattered on different hills. Here you can also watch active sulphurous holes. Then drive to Wonosobo for overnight. (B)
Day 3: Wonosobo – Dieng Plateau – Borobudur Temple
On this day you drive to a plateau, 2000 meters high, the Dieng Plateau. Here are the oldest Hindu temples in Java. The plateau is also known for its sulfur springs and lakes. Then drive back to the tropical heat in a nice hotel near Borobudur. The rest of the day is at your own disposal. (B)
Day 4: Borobudur - Parangtritis
With a bit of luck, experience a beautiful sunrise from a hill overlooking the morning mist of Borobudur Temple. Then take a walk to the so-called Chicken Church. Later, your guide will explain the meaning of the imposing Buddhist Borobudur temple. After a rest period, drive past a Marian sanctuary to the beach of Parangtritis. This place has not only the black sandy beach to offer, but also a fountain of youth and cemeteries of Islamic scholars who have spread Islam here. Talk to your tour guide what you would like to see. Enjoy the rest of the day at the hotel's pool or on the beach. (B)
Day 5: Parangtritis
Today is free for your own activities.
The sea is wild and thundering, but also very treacherous. The hotel pool is a very good alternative for swimming. (B)
Day 6: Parangtritis - Royal Cemeteries - Jogjakarta
Along the Opak River drive to Imogiri, to the Royal Cemeteries situated on a hill overlooking the lush green plains. Open only on Sundays and Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm and on Fridays from 1 to 4 pm. Be impressed by the venerable Sultan’s palace, the cool Royal Mosque and the anthropological museum. Here you will discover Central Javanese art and culture at its best. Dine royally. The rest of the day is at your leisure for a stroll through the Big Market or along the main shopping street. (B)
Optional: At night you can witness the magnificent Javanese shadow play in the anthropological museum.

Day 1: Jakarta – Bogor
Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Bogor. Enjoy the rest of the day.
Day 2: Bogor – Botanical Garden – Megalithic site - Bandung
Visit the Botanical Gardens with its enormous variety of tropical plants. A research centre for plants, such as tea and curative herbs, is located there. On the scenic road to Bandung visit the impressive megalithic site Gunung Padang. From there, you descend to Bandung which is surrounded by high mountains. It is called the "Paris of Java" named for its wide boulevards and western influenced architecture, shops and restaurants. Stay overnight in a comfortable pleasant hotel. (B)
Day 3: Bandung and surroundings
Tour colonial Bandung this morning. Early in the afternoon drive to the 2.078 meter high Tangkuban Perahu volcano. See sulphurous gases escape from bubbling mud pools. Rising mountainous fog conveys an otherworldly atmosphere. After a short walk culminate the day in the relaxing natural hot springs of Ciater. Late in the afternoon visit the Angklung school of Pak Udjo featuring traditional Sundanese music. (B)
Day 4.: Bandung – Tasikmalaya
Leave Bandung early in the morning. Drive to a small lake where you transfer to a small island with a Hindu temple and a special community. Continue to the Papandayan volcano and hike for about 2 hours inmidst the smoking sulphurous holes. Overnight in Tasikmalaya. (B)
Day 5: Tasikmalaya – Kebumen – Dieng Plateau
Drive by executive train to Kebumen. Arrival in the afternoon in Kebumen. Our driver will pick you up and continue the trip to Dieng Plateu passing beautiful landscape enroute. You will arrive late afternoon in your simple accommodation. (B)
Day 6: Dieng Plateau – Borobudur
Wake up in the early morning, you depart to Seruni Hill, where you will experience the golden sunrise of the day. After the sunrise walk to the colourful lake and continue to visit the Sikidang Crater and the Hindhu temple complex before you return to your homestay. After breakfast you leave the Dieng highlands and drive to Borobudur Temple. Overnight in the vicinity. (B)
Day 7: Borobudur – Jogjakarta
As early as 4.30 am drive to Setumbu Hill. Walk up for a 20 minutes walk to watch (with a little luck) a fascinating sunrise, backgrounded by the smoldering active Merapi volcano. Walk a short distance to the so called chicken Church with a very special architecture. Afterwards visit the stunning Buddhist Temple Borobudur from the 9th century.
After breakfast check out and drive to a Catholic holy Mary pilgrimage place with its unique architecture. Then drive to Jogjakarta for overnight. The rest of the day is at your free disposal. (B)
Day 8: City Tour Jogjakarta
Take a very interesting city tour, visit the Royal Mosque, the venerable Sultan's palace and the watercastle as well as the colourful Bird Market. The rest of the day is at your free disposal. (B)
Day 9: Rice cultivation – Handicraft – Prambanan Temple
In the morning walk through the rice fields. Get to know the art of growing rice. Witness the skilled potters in a special pottery village. In next village watch the skilled artists making leather puppets.
In the afternoon drive to the most impressive Hindu temple complex outside of India, Prambanan. (B)
Day 10: Hiking along the slopes of the Merapi volcano
After breakfast drive to the foot of the Merapi volcano. Hike five hours in the cool climate along the slopes, through mountain villages and forests. Back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free time. (B)

This Route will take you via the North Coast of Java until the South part of Central Java which is rich of tradition, then continued to East Java with its amazing landscape to discover
Day 1: Jakarta
Pick up at the Jakarta airport, then transfer directly to your hotel for overnight. Depending on the time of arrival, you still have the opportunity to see sights of your choice in Jakarta.
Day 2: Jakarta – Cirebon
Leave Jakarta and drive to Cirebon, one of Sultanate cities in Java. Here you will visit both Royal Palaces with an interesting mixture of Hindu, Islamic and Christian tradition.
The visit to one of the oldest Chinese temples on Java, Thiaw Kak, will complete your day. Overnight in Cirebon. (B)
Day 3: Cirebon - Pekalongan - Dieng Plateau
After breakfast drive along the Northern coast of Java to Pekalongan. Enroute cross rivers where you can see colourful fisherman’s boats. Pekalongan is wellknown for its Batik, rich in colours with Chinese and Arabian influence. A visit to the Banjarsari market will give an impression of the color diversity of the Northern coast.
After passing vast green shimmering tea plantations enroute you will arrive at the 2000 m high Dieng Plateau. Overnight in a simple homestay. (B)
Day 4: Sunrise – Borobudur

The afternoon is dedicated to crafts. Explore the traditional village of Kota
Gede by bike, visit the cemetery of the 1st Mataram King, take a look at an old Javanese mansion and visit the chocolate factory. Do not forget to watch the silversmiths during their artful work.
In the evening look at the hustle and bustle on the southern Sultan s square.

Day 7: Merapi volcano – Hindu Temple Prambanan
Merapi volcano will show its beauty in the early morning. You explore the slopes of the volcano by trekking through villages and forests or you can hire a jeep that takes you to a small museum, a bunker and drives though valleys.
After lunch at a local fish restaurant you continue the trip to the magnificent Hindu temple Prambanan. Return to Jogjakarta for overnight. (B)

Day 5: Sukuh – Tawangmangu - Solo
Walk 2,5 hours through mountainous villages and vegetable fields from the temple to the resort area of Tawangmangu. Late in the afternoon, drive down to Solo, another important cultural center in Central Java. Overnight in a nice hotel. (B)
Day 6: Solo – Malang
Today you travel by train to Malang. Arrival in the afternoon, then direct transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free for your own program. (B)
Day 7: Malang – by Jeep to Bromo
After breakfast visit the colorful bird and flower markets and the Chinese temple. On request drive by jeep from the East side to the Bromo-Semeru-Nationalpark. Drive up the steep hills, then down to the Sand of Sea, pass the Bromo crater to drive up to the crater s rim. Stay overnight in a small hotel. (B)
Alternative route: From Malang visit the Hindu temple, Candi Singosari, built in the 13th century. From there continue to the Bromo-Semeru National Park. Vegetable gardens growing along steep slopes can be seen along the steadily climbing road to Ngadisari. Overnight in a nicely situated hotel. (B)
Day 8: Bromo - Kalibaru
Early in the morning, at 3 o'clock, drive to a viewpoint. From this vantage point witness the awesome views all the way down the sea of sand, immersed in reddish light the Bromo cone, expelling smoke irregularly as well as the highest, still active volcano of Java, Mount Semeru (3.758 m). Walk to the edge of the crater at mount Bromo. Return from this unforgettable event to your hotel. After breakfast drive to your next destination, the cool town of Kalibaru. (B)
Day 9: Kalibaru – Banyuwangi

Drive to Kelud volcano and enjoy the view of the new volcano with its stunning surrounding which had erupted in 2010. Continue to Malang for overnight. (B)
Day 5: Malang - Bromo
After breakfast visit the colorful bird and flower markets and the Chinese temple. Visit the Hindu temple Candi Jago, built in the 13th century on your way up to the Bromo-Semeru National Park. Get on a jeep that will take you up to the Bromo-Semeru Nationalpark. Drive down to the sea of sand and cross the vast sandy plain, and check in to your beautiful boutique hotel, Java Banana. (B)
Day 6: Bromo – Surabaya
Early in the morning, at 4 o'clock, walk to a lookout point. Day 1: Surabaya – Trowulan museum - Trawas
After your arrival drive to one of the biggest sites of Hindu Java to Trowulan. (if time allows) Visit the museum and temples. Afterwards direct transfer to Trawas. Overnight in the simple bungalows of a Center for Environmental and Ecological Studies. (CEES).
Surrounded by high mountains, this place radiates calmness and tranquility. Free time.
Day 2: Trawas and its surroundings
This day is at your disposal. Go for a walk in the nearby mountain forest, watch farmers in their fields, or visit Candi Jalatunda, the idyllically situated bath sanctuary, which was built in the 10th century. (B)
Day 3: Trawas - Bromo
Drive to the Bromo-Semeru National Park on steadily rising roads up to Ngadisari, passing artistically terraced vegetable fields. Overnight in a nicely situated small hotel with restaurant. (B)
Day 4: Bromo
At 4 o'clock in the morning hike to a view point from where you watch the sunrise. An overwhelming view can be seen all the way to the sea of sand, emerged into reddish light, to Bromo volcano, emitting smoke irregularly and to Semeru mountain (3.576 m), the highest peak on Java. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day is free at your disposal. (B)
Day 5: Bromo – Ijen
Leaving this cool climate, go down to the north coast of East Java before approaching the gradual steep roads, passing forests and coffee plantations on the Ijen-Plateau. Overnight in a simple hotel. (B)
Day 6: Ijen – Kalibaru
Hike approx. 1,5 hours at dawn to the upper crater's rim. A fantastic landscape with furrowed slopes, ground holes expelling sulphurous smoke and a turquoise-green colored crater lake - combine to create an unforgettable impression. Descend and drive to Kalibaru. Overnight in the Margo Utomo II cottages. (B)
Day 7: Kalibaru

Day 8: Kalibaru - Sukamade
Pepper, rubber, cocoa and coffee trees grow in this environment. Witness the processing of palm sugar. The next destination is Sukamade, a small village on the edge of the 50.000 hektar Meru- Betiri National Park. First, drive along plantations, later through rain forests into the National Park. With a little luck it is possible at night to spy on sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach. (B/L/D)
Day 9: Sukamade – Bali
Visit a nearby factory that processes rubber, pepper, cocoa and coffee. Drive to the harbor of Ketapang and take a ferry across the sea to Bali, taking approx. 45 minutes. Transfer to a hotel of your own choice. (B)

Travel by horse-drawn carriage or bicycle rickshaw to get first impressions of the city. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2: Jogjakarta city - Parangtritis
Ride the bicycle rickshaw into the city and visit the Sultan's Palace. Continue with the rickshaw to the watercastle Tamansari. Take a look at the venerable Royal Mosque. Lunch in a royal restaurant. Buffet style. In the afternoon drive to the Indian Ocean, the beach of Parangtritis. Sunset from a beautifully located hotel on cliffs. (B)
Day 3: Walk in Menoreh Hills - Tea Plantation - Village Life
Today you walk along a river and along an irrigation canal. Depending on the season, the river invites you to splash around. Then visit a farmer 's family. Continue to beautifully terraced tea plantations. In the late afternoon drive to a village where you will find yourself in the simple houses of the villagers. Stay overnight. In the evening campfire and if you are interested try to play gamelan. (B/D)
Day 4: Borobudur Temple and Village Stay
In the early morning, head up to Menoreh Hill to a divine seat. From here you have a breathtaking view of the volcanoes of Central Java. For two hours hike down a hill, passing fields and some houses. At the foot of the hill you will be picked up by our driver and you will visit the Borobudur Temple. The reliefs tell among others the story of Buddha's life. A ship museum can also be visited. Back in the village you can plow a paddy field or braid mats. Or just watch the villagers during their activities. Overnight in the village. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Rafting - "The Forgotten" Temple - Merapi Volcano (B/L/D)
In the morning, the Elo or Opak River offers a wild ride on the river, depending on the season. Then drive to the slopes of the Sumbing volcano. You walk about 2 km up a hill to then see the hidden germ, Candi Selogriyo in its wonderful location overlooking the fertile, terraced fields. On your walk back watch the charcoal burners with their arduous work. Continue to the village of Selo, from where you will climb the Merapi volcano at night. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Ascent of Merapi volcano
At midnight start your hike to the top of the Merapi volcano. The 5-6 hour hike has become quite arduous since the last severe eruption in 2010. After the hike, drive directly to the vicinity of Solo, on the slopes of Lawu Volcano. There you stay in the beautifully situated Sukuh Cottages (B)
Day 7: Sukuh and Cetho - Temple - Tawangmanggu
In the early morning hours, drive along tea plantations to the Cetho Temple, one of the oldest temples in Java. Then visit the Sukuh Temple. Hike from the Sukuh Temple to Tawangmangu. Overnight in Tawangmangu. (B)
Day 8: Tawangmangu – Trowulan museum – Ecological Center Trawas
In the early morning hours, watch the hustle and bustle of the Tawangmangu vegetable market. On the way to Trawas you will visit the archeological site Trowulan, the ex capital of the Majapahit kingdom. Overnight in an ecological center in Trawas. (B)
Day 9: Trawas and surroundings
Passing the Hindu bath sanctuary Jolotundo you begin the ascent to the Penanggungan summit. In the past, this peak was dotted with small temples, of which unfortunately not so many are left. (B)
Day 10: Trawas - Bromo
On this day you drive to the Bromo-Semeru National Park. You visit Madakaripura Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls. In the afternoon you have time to explore the area. Overnight at Bromo.(B)
Day 11: Bromo - Kalibaru
At 4 o'clock in the morning, you will be awakened to walk to a sunrise point. From here you have a great view of the volcanoes Bromo and Semeru, one of the most active and dangerous volcanoes in Indonesia. You can also go down into the sand sea and then see through steps into the Bromo crater. After returning to the hotel, you will have breakfast and continue to Kalibaru. (B)
Day 12: Kalibaru
Today, take a small plantation tour at Margo Utomo cottages or go for a carriage ride through Kalibaru. Relax along a little river, go for walks in the area or simply stay at the wonderfully situated hotel pool. (B)
Day 13: Kalibaru - Ijen Plateau
On this day continue to the Ijen plateau. The landscape is just gorgeous. You have time to explore your surroundings. Go to the nearby village or watch the farmers at work. (B)
Day 14: Ijen - Plateau
In the early morning hours, take a jeep to the slopes of the Ijen. You walk about 2 hours up the mountain s rim and meet men carrying heavy sulfur loads. Overnight in Ijen. (B)
Day 15: Ijen - Transfer to Surabaya airport or to Bali. (B)

Day 1: Jogjakarta – Mesastila Resort
Warm welcome by your tour leader and driver at the airport Jogjakarta/Solo. Transfer to the Mesastila Resort. (about 1,5 /2,5 hours drive) The rest of the day is at your free disposal.

Day 3: Mesastila – Borobudur und Selogriyo Temple
By about 5 am at the latest you should be at the Borobudur temple for the beginning sunrise. With a little luck enjoy a beautiful sunrise from the temple with the stunning volcanoes Merapi and Merbabu in the background. Afterwards relax with a nice cup of coffee in a cosy restaurant. Continue your trip to the slopes of the Sumbing volcano.
After a 40-minute walk along terraced rice fields you’ll reach the so- called forgotten temple Selogriyo. (B)
Day 4: Mesastila – Jogjakarta
Drive on picturesque back roads to Jogjakarta. Transfer to Phoenix Heritage or Hyatt Regency Hotel. In the afternoon you’ll be amazed by the Hindu Prambanan temple complex, the largest Hindu temple of the southern hemisphere. On a clear afternoon, enjoy a great sunset from Candi Ijo, the Green temple. (B)
Day 5 : City Tour Jogjakarta
Explore the bustling and lively city of Jogjakarta. Visit Beringharjo, the city’s largest market, with its wide array of goods, admire the Sultan’s Palace and see how royalty lived in the past and the Sultan still lives today and then visit the ruins of the water castle Tamansari. The rest of the afternoon is at your own disposal. (B)
Day 6: Jogjakarta – by executive train to Jombang (East Java) – by car to Malang
Get on the executive train to Jombang, East Java. Continue your trip
by car through hilly landscape to Malang. Transfer to the outstanding Tugu Malang hotel. (B)

Day 8: Malang – Jeep tour to Bromo
In the morning drive to the Hindu temple Candi Jago. After the visit get on a jeep that will take you up to the Bromo-Semeru National park. Drive down to the sea of sand, cross the sand desert and check in to your beautiful boutique hotel, Java Banana. (B)
Day 9: Bromo - Ijen
At about 4 o clock in the morning start your walk along the edge of the crater to a view point with spectacular views of the stunning Bromo, and smoking Semeru volcano, the highest and still active volcano in East Java. If you like, you can walk or ride by horse to the edge of the crater. On your way back to the hotel have a look into the Hindu temple located in the sea of sand. After breakfast continue your tour back to the Northern coast for a nearly 6-hour drive when you’ll reach the beautiful Ijen resort and Villas hotel. (B)
Day 10: Ijen
Free program. Enjoy the day in the wonderful, peaceful surroundings of the hotel. (B)
Day 11: Ijen – North Bali
Bali
Start this day very early to drive by jeep through the rain forest to the slopes of the Ijen mountain. From there you have to walk for about 1,5 hours to the crater's rim. Enjoy the fabulous colorful interplay from the turquoise crater lake, the yellow sulphor and the lunar-like grey and reddish stones. Direct transfer to the harbor where you will take to ferry to Bali. (B)
